Sunday, Sunday

Hey Girls,

Cloudy, windy.. aw, quite the Sunday today. I hope everyone reading this is doing well. And that your mood is happier than the weather!

Well, the new blog is up. Sometimes I wish I was more computer savy, tampering around for a long time, trying to get things to work, and I just don't understand...nar..

Anyway, today I was thinking about the concept of love during my time with God. I think that we often have a strange view of love, or well, rather limited.

We know love as in, love our neighbour, love our family, love our husband, love our pets. It's this feeling, this emotion (with actions too) that we extend to others and show them how much we care for them.

But I think that love is soo much bigger than that! Love is more than a feeling, love is action. Real actions. Love alone, apart from God, is corrupt, unfulfilling, lacking. God's love, the love he extends towards us, is life giving, whole and complete, encompassing. God's love can work miracles, save lives, save souls, transform communities, change people... and so on. God's love does! It's a doing action. It performs in big ways.

I think that all of God's creating was a result of his love. God created us out of love for us. God created the world and universe out of love, from his love. God is love so everything he does has it's roots in his love. This means that love is dynamtic, a force that creates, changes things, always to the good and to bring us closer to God.

God's love is so real, so powerful. It can do anything. There are numerous Bible verses that talk about love, and God's love. The psalms especially are filled with praises for God's love. It's no wonder that creation, people and animals, have a need for love and want to be loved. This need drives people to many harmful actions because they don't correctly understand that they need to recieve this life giving force of love from God. Love is a foundation of our design. As Christians, we need to continually ask God for more of his love so we can take this love and extend it to other people, as well as love God back. The more love he gives us, the more we have to give. God can increase our ability to recieve love from him as we become closer to him.

Love is more than being good to those we already love. It stretches to everything, even to tasks we dislike or people we don't get along with. God's love should infuse all that we do, and all that we are.
